How to Avoid Repairs
Your frames and/or lenses will come with a limited warranty. If something goes wrong during normal daily use, please come back to us with your glasses as soon as possible. Your warranty does not cover lenses that have not been kept in a case, or have been cleaned with inappropriate cleaning agents, or have been exposed to extreme heat.
We will otherwise help with glasses repairs, but we suggest you be pro-active in avoiding repairs by taking care of your glasses in the following ways:
- The best way to clean your glasses is to use the spray cleaner and cloth provided to you with your glasses purchase. As an alternative, you may use mild liquid soap and lukewarm water. Clothing, napkins, tissues and paper towels all carry fibres that will scratch the lens.
- Exposure to heat – Avoid exposing your glasses to direct heat sources, such as your oven or steaming dishwasher, or leaving on the dashboard of your car.
- Storing and carrying your glasses – The best way to protect your glasses when you have to pack or carry them with you is to use your glasses case. Otherwise, they are susceptible to being scratched, bent, or broken.
- Always remove your glasses from your face with both hands to avoid weakening one side.
The most common glasses repairs include repairing and/or replacing a screw that fell out or re-aligning the frame if it is damaged or bent. We will happily repair your glasses that you have purchased at Canmore Family Eyecare. Sometimes a replacement part is required. For glasses purchased elsewhere, we do not take responsibility for breakage or damage that may occur during the repair process.
